Presenters
Ross Goode![]() Ross is a recently retired teacher of English Language, English, German and Italian. He has taught in several different schools during his career and has led English and Language Faculties. He has also been involved for many years at school level in managing pre-service teacher programs. He has been and is still involved in various external assessment of student exams and practice exams. He tutors students in English and English Language; has created commercial resources for VCE English Language and has delivered seminars to VCE English Language students. His passion is language. |

Nicole Jasinowicz lives and works in Wodonga, a regional town in north-east Victoria, on the Murray river. She has been teaching VCE Englishes since 2008 and VCE English Language since 2015, when she established a VCE English Language program. Nicole is currently working at Wodonga Senior Secondary College and is her school’s lead teacher for literacy. Over the years she has also worked in the VCAA exam roles for VCE Sociology. She has found her happy place teaching English Language, it’s the perfect marriage of linguistics, English and Sociology. It has enriched her life and broadened her students’ understanding of the world. |

Marlya has taught English Language since 2007 and established an English Language program in two schools, including Mazenod College, her current school. She holds postgraduate research degrees in Linguistics and History and has taught VCE English, EAL and English Language since 2007 as well as working in VCAA exam roles in EAL and English Language since 2008. She has completed research into the relationship between language and material culture and is currently pursuing further research at postgraduate level in this area. In her few spare moments, she enjoys reading historical non-fiction and sewing for her young children. |

Jonathon Lum is a lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Melbourne. His research focuses on the complex relationships between language, culture, cognition and the environment. Jonathon has worked for many years as a VCE English Language tutor and has also been involved in presenting revision lectures and in preparing study materials and practice exams for the subject. |
